The Staying In Disney versions of the Guides are tailored to guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort or in a Disney Good Neighbor hotel and who benefit from Early Theme Park Entry and other Disney perks.
If you have children in different age groups, I would recommend buying one Complete Guide for the child you need to accommodate most and Essential Guide(s) for the others. That way, you know what rides, attractions and restaurants will appeal to and suit all age groups.

Choosing the right Guide(s) for you
I have two types of Walt Disney World Guides: the Complete Fabulous Guide and the Essential Fabulous Guide.
The Complete Fabulous Guide covers everything you need to know when planning your trip. It includes a comprehensive countdown of everything you need to think about and do in preparation for your holiday, top insider tips, an explanation of Disney’s unique language, Lightning Lane Passes, detailed Park Guides and much more. This Guide is perfect for:
- Families travelling to Walt Disney World for the first time.
- Adults bringing children for the first time who want to ensure their experience is as enjoyable as possible.
- Anyone who visited before 2020 and may not be familiar with the many changes Disney has introduced since then!
The Essential Fabulous Guide is a condensed version of the Complete Guide. Instead of a complete countdown, the Essential Guide provides a helpful checklist along with useful information, including an explanation of Lightning Lane Passes and our detailed Park Guides. This Guide is a great option for:
- Families with children in different age groups who require more than one Guide. We recommend subscribing to one Complete Guide for the child(ren) who you will need to accommodate the most, and an Essential Guide for the other age group(s), to ensure you have the most relevant advice to cater for everyone’s needs.
- Families who have travelled to WDW recently (within the last two or three years) and are familiar with the planning process but want to enhance their trip with some expert advice.
Staying Outside Disney Guide
The Staying Outside Disney versions of the Guides are designed for those staying in a hotel, villa or other accommodation that is not part of a Disney resort. As such, these guests do not have access to Disney perks, including Early Theme Park Entry.
If you have children in different age groups, I would recommend buying one Complete Guide for the child you need to accommodate most and Essential Guide(s) for the others. That way, you know what rides, attractions and restaurants will appeal to and suit all age groups.
