With so much happening between 7pm and midnight, it’s simply not possible to do everything. The trick is deciding what matters most to your family before the party starts, then building your evening around those priorities.

I’ve put together a suggested itinerary to help you do just that, but don’t feel you have to follow it minute-by-minute. Pick and choose the elements that matter most to you and your family.

What time should you arrive at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
Arrive at Magic Kingdom by 4:00pm. Allow extra time for parking and transport.
Entry begins at 4:00pm. Arrive 30-45 minutes early to beat the queue or just after it opens to avoid waiting in the heat.
Once you’re inside, get your party map and trick-or-treat bag. If you’re already in Magic Kingdom, there’s no need to rush to collect your wristband at 4pm, you can pick it up closer to party time from one of the designated locations.
What should you do before Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party starts?
4.00pm – 7.00 pm: Pre-Party Time
Rides
Ride attractions with low wait times or those unavailable during the party. Save special overlays for party hours.
Eat Dinner
Eat dinner before the party starts to maximize party time.
Visit any non-party characters
Meet non-party characters or line up early for Jack Skellington and Sally (queues start at 4:00pm and fill quickly).
What should you prioritise during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
7pm – Midnight: Party Time
7.00pm – Get your bearings
Pick up any party essentials you haven’t already collected, check the party map and decide where you’re heading first.
Party treats & merch
Grab exclusive treats and merchandise early. Use a locker if you prefer not to carry items all night.
Prioritise characters
Prioritise meeting one or two favourite characters early, as lines may close before the party ends. Check out where all the characters are here.
Throughout the evening
Dance parties, live entertainment and trick-or-treating can be fitted around your main priorities. Don’t feel that you have to schedule every minute, leave some room to wander, enjoy the atmosphere and see what catches your eye.
8.15pm – Use the first parade to your advantage
If Jack and Sally are a priority for your family, the first parade can be a useful time to try their meet-and-greet, as many guests will be watching the parade.
Alternatively, use this is a great time to tackle some popular attractions while the crowds are watching the parade. Here’s a full list of what is open.
9:30pm – Get ready for the fireworks
To secure the best spot in the hub (in front of Cinderella Castle) for the fireworks, start looking for your viewing spot around 9.30pm. Main Street USA is also a great spot. Alternatively, use the time before the fireworks for a character meet or attraction and head towards the hub or Main Street afterwards.
10.00pm – Not-So Spooky Spectacular
Enjoy what Disney does so well!
After Fireworks
Trick or Treat later
Trick-or-treat later in the evening for shorter lines. Allergy-friendly bags are available; exchange tokens at Liberty Square or Tomorrowland.
Watch the second parade in Frontierland (11.15pm)
For the second parade (11:15pm), arrive 15-20 minutes early in Frontierland or 30 minutes early on Main Street USA for a good view.
Hit those favourite rides and pick up more treats
Use the last hour to enjoy popular rides, grab extra treats, or meet any remaining characters.
12.00am – Finish with Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular
If the final Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is a priority, this is your chance to finish the evening with the show. Just remember that the party ends at midnight, so don’t leave it too late if there are any final rides, treats or photos you still want to fit in.
Top tip
If you choose to watch the 11.15pm Boo-to-You Parade from Main Street, U.S.A., the final floats will not clear the area until around 11.40pm. This leaves you with a tight 20-minute window to battle the crowds and rush over to the Cinderella Castle hub for the midnight Hocus Pocus stage show. For a much smoother transition, watch the second parade from Frontierland instead- the parade starts there first, allowing you to head straight to the castle ahead of the crowds!
Entertainment may be affected by weather, so remain flexible.
Don‘t Try to Do Everything!
The trick to a successful party is creating a plan that is right for your family. Prioritise what’s most important and build your evening around those things. It is simply not possible to do everything, so forget about FOMO and focus instead on the things you and your family love. That way, everyone gets to enjoy the party, and don’t forget to leave some room for those unexpected Disney moments along the way.
