What is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed after-hours event held on selected evenings at Magic Kingdom during November and December. Hosted by Mickey and his friends, the Park is transformed into a festive wonderland with exclusive Christmas entertainment, dazzling fireworks, a magical parade, festive character meet-and-greets and complimentary cookies and seasonal drinks.

The Party officially runs from 7.00pm until midnight, but Party ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom from 4.00pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the Park before the Christmas celebrations begin.

Whether it’s your first visit to Walt Disney World or you’ve visited many times before, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party offers a unique way to experience the magic of Disney during the festive season.

Is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Worth It?

This is probably the question I’m asked most often.

The honest answer?

Yes… provided you enjoy Christmas and you’re happy to pay extra for a unique Disney experience.

Tickets aren’t cheap, particularly for larger families, so it’s understandable to wonder whether they’re really worth the additional cost.

For many families, the answer is absolutely yes.

Where else can you watch snow falling on Main Street, enjoy complimentary Christmas treats, meet rare Disney Characters in festive outfits, experience exclusive entertainment and watch one of Disney’s most beautiful Christmas parades and spectacular fireworks – all in one evening?

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World for the first time, or celebrating a special occasion, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party can become one of those unforgettable holiday memories that stays with you long after you’ve returned home. Alternatively, especially if you have older kids, Disney’s Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios might suit you better.

However, if you’re travelling on a tighter budget or simply aren’t particularly interested in Christmas, you may decide your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 Dates

The 2026 Parties take place on selected evenings between 8th November and 22nd December 2026.

  • November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27, 29
  • December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 22

Which dates are busiest?

Historically, these Parties are the first to sell out:

  • The opening Party
  • Weekends
  • Dates around Thanksgiving
  • The final Parties before Christmas

If your holiday dates are flexible, choosing a midweek Party earlier in the season can often mean slightly lower ticket prices and a less crowded experience.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 Ticket Prices

Tickets for the 2026 Party range from:

  • Adults (10+)
  • $189 to $229 per ticket, plus tax
  • Children (3-9)
  • $179 to $219 per ticket, plus tax

Prices vary depending on demand, with weekends and dates closer to Christmas usually costing more.

Children under three don’t need a Party ticket.

How to Buy Tickets Important Information for UK & Irish Visitors

This catches lots of people out every year.

Unlike guests in the United States, UK and Irish visitors can’t currently purchase Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 tickets through the UK or Irish version of the Walt Disney World website or My Disney Experience app.

If you’re staying at a Disney Resort Hotel during the Party season, you can purchase tickets from 9th July by contacting your travel agent or Disney directly.

From the UK call: 0800 085 0582

From Ireland call: 1800  812  676

General ticket sales begin on 16th July.

The best option for UK and Irish visitors is to buy party tickets through trusted third-party sellers such as Florida Tix, AttractionTickets.com and Orlando Attraction Tickets, which often offer promotional discounts.  It’s worth shopping around.

For families from Eire, Attraction Tickets in Ireland has tickets available in Euros.

If you’re considering waiting until you arrive in Florida, I’d be cautious. Popular Party dates have sold out well before Christmas in previous years, and there’s always a risk that your preferred night won’t still be available.

What Happens at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?

No one celebrates Christmas quite like Disney.

From the moment you walk through the gates of Magic Kingdom, you’ll be surrounded by festive decorations, sparkling lights, towering Christmas trees and seasonal music that somehow makes even the Florida sunshine feel Christmassy.

As darkness falls, the atmosphere becomes even more magical.

Snow begins to fall on Main Street, U.S.A., Cinderella Castle glows against the night sky, Christmas music fills the air and families gather to watch some of Disney’s most popular festive entertainment.

Throughout the evening you can enjoy:

  • Exclusive Christmas entertainment
  • Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade
  • Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks
  • Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show
  • Complimentary cookies and festive drinks
  • Rare Disney Character meet-and-greets
  • Lower wait times for many attractions
  • Seasonal overlays on selected rides
  • Festive food and drinks available to purchase
  • Party-exclusive merchandise

Even if you’ve visited Magic Kingdom many times before, the Christmas Party has a completely different atmosphere and feels like an entirely new experience.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 Entertainment

One of the biggest reasons families book Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is for the exclusive entertainment. Many of these shows and experiences can only be enjoyed during the Party, making it feel very different from a regular day at Magic Kingdom.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade

If you only do one thing during the Party, make it this.

This enchanting parade is one of my favourite Christmas experiences anywhere at Walt Disney World. Watch as dancing gingerbread men, toy soldiers, Disney Characters and festive floats make their way along the parade route before Santa Claus himself brings the evening to a magical close.

If you’re watching from Main Street, U.S.A., you may even be treated to one of Disney’s most magical touches – snowfall on Main Street!

Top tip

If you’re planning to watch the parade from Main Street, arrive early to secure a good viewing spot. Alternatively, Frontierland often offers a little more space and a slightly less crowded experience.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks

Hosted by Minnie Mouse, this spectacular fireworks show combines festive music, breath taking projections on Cinderella Castle and dazzling fireworks that light up the Magic Kingdom sky.

It’s a wonderful celebration of the season and one of the highlights of the evening.

If you’ve seen Disney’s regular Happily Ever After fireworks, don’t skip this. The Christmas soundtrack and festive castle projections make it a completely different experience.

Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration

Throughout the evening, Cinderella Castle comes alive with this joyful stage show featuring Mickey, Minnie and many of their Disney friends.

Expect festive songs, colourful costumes, dancing and plenty of Christmas cheer as Disney Characters celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

Frozen Holiday Surprise

Before the Party officially begins, gather in front of Cinderella Castle to watch Elsa transform the Castle into a sparkling ice palace.

Joined by Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and the Snowgies, this charming show is included with regular park admission as well as Party tickets, so it’s well worth arriving in time to watch before the evening festivities begin.

Meet Disney Characters in Their Christmas Best

For many guests, the character meet-and-greets are reason enough to buy a Party ticket.

You’ll find many Disney favourites dressed in festive outfits that you won’t usually see during the rest of the year, along with several rare characters who only appear during special events.

For 2026, Disney has confirmed the return of:

  • Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their Christmas outfits
  • Anna and Elsa wearing festive costumes
  • Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws and Sally

Disney often announces additional characters nearer the start of the Christmas season, so I’ll keep this guide updated as soon as they’re confirmed.

Top tip

Some of the most popular character queues begin before the Party officially starts, so if meeting a particular character is high on your wish list, it’s worth planning ahead.

Festive Fun Throughout the Park

One of the things I love most about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is that the magic isn’t limited to one area of Magic Kingdom.

As you explore the Park you’ll discover festive entertainment around almost every corner.

Look out for:

  • Club Tinsel in Tomorrowland, where families can dance the night away with Disney friends.
  • Disney Jr. Jingle Jam, perfect for younger children.
  • The Reindeer Wranglers in Frontierland performing festive country classics.
  • Storybook Circus, where you’ll find even more Christmas fun for younger guests, plus you can meet Santa!
  • Exclusive Magic Shots from Disney PhotoPass photographers.

It’s these little surprises that make the evening feel so special.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 Attraction Overlay

Attractions Open During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026

One of the biggest benefits of attending the Party is the opportunity to enjoy many of Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions with lower wait times than you would usually experience during the day.

Several attractions also receive festive overlays or special seasonal touches.

Highlights include:

  • Space Mountain (Seasonal Overlay)
  • TRON Lightcycle / Run
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • “it’s a small world”
  • Jingle Cruise (Seasonal Overlay – what gave it away?)
  • Tomorrowland Speedway (Seasonal Overlay)
  • Mad Tea Party  (Seasonal Overlay)
  • Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor (Seasonal Overlay)
  • PeopleMover
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  • The Barnstormer
  • Winnie the Pooh
  • Astro Orbiter
  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
  • Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
  • Journey of the Little Mermaid

Please note that attraction availability can change, and Disney occasionally updates the entertainment and ride line-up before the Party begins.

Your Party ticket includes complimentary festive snacks and drinks at locations throughout Magic Kingdom.

Traditionally these include a selection of cookies together with hot chocolate and other seasonal beverages, although Disney occasionally changes the menu from year to year.

It’s a lovely little extra and somehow makes wandering around Magic Kingdom on a December evening feel even more festive.

There are also plenty of Party-exclusive food and drink items available to purchase if you’d like to try something a little different.

Is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Suitable for Younger Children?

Absolutely.

Although the Party doesn’t finish until midnight, many families with younger children still have a wonderful evening, especially if they bring along a pushchair so legs don’t get too tired and little ones can have a nap, if needed.

Also, because you’re able to enter Magic Kingdom from 4.00pm, you can enjoy several hours of festive entertainment before bedtime becomes an issue.

You’ll also find plenty of child-friendly entertainment, including Disney Jr. characters, Storybook Circus activities, festive dance parties and opportunities to meet favourite Disney Characters.

You won’t miss out on the parade either, as the first one is usually scheduled for 8.30pm. However, the fireworks may be pushing it too much as these don’t typically take place until 10.00pm.

If your little ones usually manage a late night on holiday, this can easily become one of the highlights of your entire trip.

My Fabulous Park Day Verdict

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World during the Christmas season and your budget allows, I think Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is well worth considering.

It’s not an inexpensive evening, especially for larger families, but the festive atmosphere, exclusive entertainment and magical touches make it feel like much more than just extra hours in Magic Kingdom. Watching “snow” fall on Main Street, seeing the Christmas parade and enjoying the unique seasonal entertainment creates memories that many families treasure long after they’ve returned home.

That said, it isn’t the right choice for everyone. If you’re travelling on a tighter budget, don’t enjoy late nights or simply aren’t big fans of Christmas, you may prefer to spend your money elsewhere.

I’d recommend it if:

  • 🎄 You love Christmas.
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 You’re visiting as a family.
  • ✨ This is a once-in-a-lifetime or special celebration.
  • 🎅 You want to experience Disney at its most magical.

You might want to give it a miss if:

  • 💷 You’re trying to keep costs down.
  • 😴 Your children struggle with late nights.
  • 🎢 You’d rather spend your budget on another experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party worth the money?

If you love Christmas, exclusive entertainment and a more festive atmosphere, many families consider it one of the best-ticketed events at Walt Disney World.

What time can I enter Magic Kingdom with my Party ticket?

Party guests can enter Magic Kingdom from 4.00pm, although the Party itself officially runs from 7.00pm until midnight.

Do I need a regular park ticket as well?

No. A Party ticket allows entry from 4.00pm without needing a separate Magic Kingdom ticket for that evening.

Does the Party sell out?

Yes. Popular dates, particularly weekends, the opening Party and dates closest to Christmas, often sell out in advance.

Are rides open during the Party?

Many of Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions remain open, often with much shorter queues than during the day.

Can I meet Santa?

Yes, you can meet Santa at Santa’s Christmas Carnival in Storybook Circus. He also makes an appearance during Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade.

Are the cookies really free?

Yes! Complimentary cookies and seasonal drinks are included with your Party ticket at selected locations throughout Magic Kingdom. They are yummy!

Is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party suitable for toddlers?

Yes, although you’ll need to consider whether they’ll happily stay up late. Many families find that arriving at 4.00pm gives them plenty of time to enjoy the festivities before little ones get tired. And I’d definitely recommend bringing a pushchair, so they can snooze whilst the rest of the family enjoys the party.

Can you wear Christmas jumpers?

Definitely! You’ll see plenty of families embracing the festive spirit with Christmas jumpers, matching family outfits, festive Minnie ears and Disney Christmas clothing. We certainly did!

Still having fun, despite the rain at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
What happens if it rains during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?

Florida weather can be unpredictable, even during the Christmas season. Light rain won’t usually affect the Party too much, but if there is heavy rain, strong winds or lightning, outdoor entertainment such as the parade, fireworks and castle stage show may be delayed, modified or cancelled for safety reasons.

I know this from first-hand experience. During my visit in 2025, persistent bad weather meant the majority of the entertainment offerings couldn’t go ahead. We still had a lovely evening, enjoyed the attractions that remained open (we were able to ride Tron on repeat!) and made the most of the festive atmosphere, but I was disappointed not to see some of the entertainment I’d been looking forward to (and couldn’t get the photos I really wanted). Though the fireworks were simply AMAZING

Thankfully, evenings like this are the exception rather than the rule, and most Parties go ahead as planned. Just bear in mind that Disney can’t control the weather, and refunds or exchanges aren’t usually offered if entertainment has to be cancelled for safety reasons. We did get a message in the My Disney Experience app, apologising for the inconvenience, and our event ticket was converted to a 1-day ticket with Park Hopper, valid for one year. Whilst arguably not the best option for us, as we can’t pop over for a day, it was still good to receive something.

Top tip

If rain is forecast, pack a lightweight waterproof or poncho and don’t write the evening off. Florida weather can change quickly, and even if some outdoor entertainment is affected, there’s still plenty of festive fun to enjoy.

Final Thoughts

If you’re lucky enough to be visiting Walt Disney World during the festive season, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a wonderful way to experience the magic of Christmas, Disney-style.

Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, there’s something rather special about seeing Magic Kingdom transformed for the holidays. From festive entertainment and exclusive character meet-and-greets to snowfall on Main Street and complimentary Christmas treats, it’s an evening that many families return for year after year.

If you’re thinking of booking, I’d recommend doing so sooner rather than later, especially if you’re travelling during the busiest weeks of the Christmas season.

I hope this guide has helped you decide whether Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is the right choice for your family – and if you’re lucky enough to be going, I hope you have the most magical evening! If you want to do both Christmas parties, check out my post about Jollywood Nights.
